The Pee Dee Lean Alliance is a
membership-based group of area
manufacturing companies that share
best practices in Lean techniques and
principles by opening their plants to each other to study and learn to implement Lean tools more effectively.

The alliance is coordinated by the SC Manufacturing Extension Partnership
(SCMEP).

The alliance holds monthly “events” at member plants, typically observing Lean techniques at the host plant. After touring a facility, a group discussion is facilitated to identify strengths observed during the tour as well as opportunities for improvement. This discussion gives the host plant valuable
objective feedback.

Members are required to pay dues, host an event about once a year, and participate in SCMEP's annual survey administered by NIST.

For more information, contact Chris Klasing at jckassoc@bellsouth.net, Joe Jacobs at jjacobs@scmep.org, or Jim Hill at SIMT Jim.Hill@fdtc.edu.
